Irish passenger describes 'terrifying' incident as bomb threats affect almost 30 flights
Almost 30 flights were disrupted on Thursday by hoax bomb threats, with several routes to and from Ireland affected. The second day of disruption followed earlier incidents just two days after seven planes were searched or diverted. Among the Thursday disruptions, a Ryanair flight from Dublin to Prague and another from London Stansted to Cork were impacted. The Cork-bound service was delayed 90 minutes after an anonymous phone threat at Cork Airport. An Aer Lingus Dublin–Rome flight was diverted to the Évreux-Fauville airbase in Normandy after passengers were told of a “problem with plane,” according to an Irish passenger. French authorities said everyone was kept safe and bomb disposal teams intervened; Gardaí later confirmed the Ryanair threat was a hoax.
