It's Official: Boeing 737 MAX 7 Secures FAA Type Certification

Boeing’s 737 MAX 7 has cleared its long certification journey after the FAA issued an amended type certificate Monday, ending more than eight years of work since the smallest MAX 7 first flew in March 2018. The FAA also added the 737-7 to Boeing’s production certificate, letting the manufacturer build the aircraft under its approved production system. Boeing says Southwest Airlines, the launch customer, and Boeing are preparing the first deliveries by updating already-built jets to the final certified configuration. Boeing still targets first delivery in 2027, while Southwest expects about six months after certification to update manuals, training, and maintenance.
