Jets, Canadiens dressed to impress with new NHL Heritage Classic sweaters
After a three-year break, the NHL Heritage Classic returns with the Montreal Canadiens hosting the Winnipeg Jets outdoors at Princess Auto Stadium in Manitoba on Oct. 25. Both teams will wear new sweaters. Winnipeg’s jersey is a white throwback that reflects the franchise’s original look from the 1980s and 1990s, echoing its 2016 Heritage Classic sweater and featuring the same legacy-crest theme. Fanatics says the Jets’ crest uses felt with chain-stitched detailing, while the back numbers use a two-layer felt treatment. Montreal’s design draws from elements across its jersey history, while staying within its “bleu, blanc et rouge” identity, with a slightly redrawn Canadiens logo and running-stitch detailing. “Les Habitants” appears in the back collar for the first time, plus a fleur-de-lis on the loop label.
