Jets Training Camp: Early 53-man roster prediction

New York’s offseason work has already started to shape projections for the Jets’ final 53-man roster ahead of cutdown day on Aug. 30. After a 3-14 season and Aaron Glenn’s first year as head coach, the Jets revamped both staff and personnel. Glenn will call defensive plays, while delegating offensive play-calling in 2025 to Steve Wilks, who was fired after 14 games. The early projection lists Geno Smith as starter at quarterback, with Cade Klubnik as the likely backup after being selected in the fourth round in April. Bailey Zappe could be kept as insurance. On defense/offense mix, the plan keeps backs and key receivers, highlights Mason Taylor and Kenyon Sadiq at tight end, and notes Jelani Woods as a wildcard.
