KLM Is Canceling Its Own Flights Until Early March So Maintenance Delays Don't Happen At The Gate
KLM will cancel selected flights from October 26, 2026, until early March 2027 to prevent maintenance delays from disrupting service “at the gate,” according to reports cited by NL Times and others. The Dutch network carrier is using early cancellations to free up more long-haul aircraft as reserves and to give its maintenance teams breathing room through the winter. While KLM has confirmed the plan, it has not released a total number of canceled flights or a full list of affected destinations, and some already-scheduled flights are reportedly being operated with different aircraft. The move follows short-notice cancellation of at least five intercontinental routes, adding pressure on crew scheduling. The winter network runs across 164 destinations from October 25, 2026 to March 27, 2027.
