Neighbors in Lake Stevens quickly provided first aid after a small, single-engine plane crashed Sunday night, with the pilot suffering serious injuries. Around 6 p.m., Getchell Firefighters responded to the crash near the 11,000 block of 127th Ave. NE, according to Snohomish County Fire District #22. Crews were handling an unrelated medical call nearby at the time, and a chief officer diverted to the crash site, finding the aircraft in a yard next to the Frontier Air Park community. The pilot was the only person onboard and was trapped inside. Additional units helped extract the pilot, who was taken to a nearby trauma center. The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, and officials said there’s no ongoing community risk.
