LATAM Airlines August 2026 Traffic Improves Year Over Year

LATAM Airlines reported improvement in August 2026 traffic, but not enough to keep pace with capacity growth. The airline’s consolidated revenue passenger-kilometers (RPK) rose 4.7% year over year, while consolidated capacity measured in available seat-kilometers (ASK) increased 7%. Load factor fell 1.8 percentage points to 83.5%, reflecting fuller seats not matching the added capacity. International operations grew 7.3%, and domestic operations at LATAM Airlines Brazil rose 6.7%, with affiliates in Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru up 6.6%. LATAM carried 7.89 million passengers in August, up 2.6% year over year. For comparison, Volaris reported RPM gains and a stable but declining domestic load factor, while Ryanair saw passenger growth.
