Looking Back at the Biggest Trades of the Miami Dolphins' Rebuild
Over the past 12 months, the Miami Dolphins have used trades to reshape their roster as part of their rebuild, including dealing away established veterans and draft picks. Among the highlighted moves, in November 2025 Miami traded EDGE Jaelan Phillips to the Philadelphia Eagles for a 2026 third-round pick (No. 87), later used to draft TE Will Kacmarek. Phillips then signed a four-year, $120 million contract with the Carolina Panthers, while his 2026 production with Philadelphia included two sacks and 28 tackles in eight games. Kacmarek has been used mainly for run blocking and logged PFF grades above 70 against Kansas City and Minnesota. In March 2026, the Dolphins traded safety Minkah Fitzpatrick to the New York Jets for a 2026 seventh-round pick (No. 238), used to select EDGE Max Llewellyn; Fitzpatrick immediately signed a three-year, $40 million deal and has posted a 73.8 PFF grade in 2026.
