Lufthansa Pressurization Fault Grounds Beijing Flight, Triggers €600 EU Compensation Claim

A Lufthansa Airbus A350 flight, LH722, was forced to turn back to Munich on Saturday after the crew encountered a pressurization fault over central Europe. Departing Munich on August 1 toward Beijing Capital International Airport, the aircraft climbed only to 17,000 feet and spent about two hours and 15 minutes managing the issue, briefly entering Czech airspace before returning and landing on Runway 08R. No injuries were reported, but the flight was canceled and passengers were sent back for rebooking. Because the route exceeds 3,500 km, European Court of Justice rulings suggest passengers could claim up to €600 compensation under EU Regulation 261/2004.
