Major boost for Airbus in Broughton as huge order for 75 aircraft confirmed

Airbus secured a firm order for 75 A320neo Family aircraft through Aviation Capital Group (ACG), a deal tied directly to Airbus’s Broughton manufacturing operation in North Wales. The agreement brings ACG’s total historical orders for the A320neo Family to 190. The significance for Wales is that wings for the A320 Family are built at Airbus’s Broughton factory in Flintshire, its “Home of Wings.” The new order lands as Airbus expands Broughton, converting its former A380 wing facility into A321 wing production, including six wing production jigs, an equipping line and a paint shop. Airbus said the investment targets a backlog of around 7,500 A320 Family aircraft and supports new jobs across 2026, including 250 in a refurbished factory.
