Netanyahu: Omani co-pilot went through Islamic radicalization
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said an Omani co-pilot who tried to attack the captain of a FlyDubai flight en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv may have undergone Islamic radicalization, a view backed by an Israeli intelligence official and people who worked with the crew. UAE security services are leading the investigation, while investigators have also questioned the co-pilot, according to the report. An Emirati foreign ministry spokeswoman said authorities are examining circumstances, motives, possible links to terrorist intent, and whether there was prior planning or direction. Israel’s Mossad and Shin Bet are also investigating. Channel 16 reported the co-pilot had worked for FlyDubai for only eight months and was more religiously observant than most colleagues.
