Farewell: Pilot Of Spirit Airlines' Last Las Vegas Jet Performs Final "Wing Wave"

Spirit Airlines closed its Las Vegas base with the final LAS departure taking place on Friday, as the last aircraft left Harry Reid International Airport and performed a wing wave farewell. The flight, destined for long-term storage at Pinal Airpark in Marana (MZJ), lifted off at 9:59 a.m. local time and completed a 53-minute journey, arriving at 10:52 a.m. The aircraft, N652NK, is 8.5 years old and was delivered in December 2017, configured for 182 passengers in two classes. It features two IAE V2527-A5 engines and wore Spirit’s bright yellow livery. The plane is slated for storage at a major desert facility.
