Medal Of Honor Recipient Helps Save Southwest Airlines Passenger Amid Medical Emergency
An Austin to Baltimore Southwest flight diverted to Little Rock after a medical emergency forced an unscheduled stop early this week. Southwest flight WN3905 uses Boeing 737 family equipment on this route (737-800 or MAX 8), with a scheduled block time of 3h10 and a departure window around 5:50 a.m. Flightradar24 data showed a 5:56 a.m. takeoff before diversion, with arrival in Arkansas just after 7:00 a.m. Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer, serving as a first responder, assisted during the incident and later told People Magazine he was 'happy and honored to assist.' Southwest confirmed the passenger was met by local first responders on arrival, and stressed that safety remains the top priority for customers and employees. A spokesperson said the incident is being handled under standard procedures as authorities investigate. Meyer’s representative told People Magazine that he was grateful for the chance to help when needed. The airline noted the passenger is now in the care of local responders in Little Rock, underscoring the procedural and humanitarian steps taken in such emergencies.
