Nigeria has highest number of private jets in Africa -- Keyamo
Nigeria has the highest number of private jets in Africa, Aviation and Aerospace Development Minister Festus Keyamo said during strategic talks with aircraft manufacturers in Montréal, Canada. Speaking on Saturday, Keyamo framed the development as a way to deepen partnerships with global OEMs and expand Nigeria’s aviation industry. He described Nigeria’s growing business aviation market as a key driver, adding that the government wants to connect Nigerian operators directly with manufacturers to modernize fleets, improve safety standards, and raise operational efficiency. The minister’s remarks followed a visit to Bombardier’s Laurent Beaudoin Completion Centre, culminating engagements with Boeing, Airbus, Embraer and Bombardier. The delegation included leadership from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, and Nigeria’s ICAO representative, and it toured Bombardier facilities covering maintenance systems, pilot and technical training, digital technologies and aftermarket services.
