Nneka Ogwumike has a double-double to lead the Sparks past the Sky, 102-87
Nneka Ogwumike powered the Los Angeles Sparks to a 102-87 win over the Chicago Sky with a double-double and playmaking that set the tone on Friday night. Ogwumike finished with 25 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists, while Erica Wheeler added 15 points and eight assists. Los Angeles took control in the fourth quarter, with a 3-pointer by Ogwumike and a driving layup by Dearica Hamby that extended the lead to 90-80. Hamby later added a reverse layup with 1:36 remaining and blocked Courtney Vandersloot to seal the result. Rae Burrell and Ariel Atkins each scored 17, and all five Sparks starters reached double figures (10-11 record). Chicago was led by Kamilla Cardoso, Gabriela Jaquez, and Sydney Taylor with 15 each. Kelsey Plum and Cameron Brink did not play for Los Angeles, and Skylar Diggins missed for Chicago.
