Patriots not ruling out A.J. Brown, two other key players for Week 6
The Patriots said they have not ruled out wide receiver A.J. Brown, left tackle Will Campbell, or running back TreVeyon Henderson for Sunday’s Week 6 game against the Jets. All three are close enough to be considered, but Brown must be activated from injured reserve by Saturday at 4 p.m. to play. Initially, his high ankle sprain was expected to sideline him for six weeks, and he has already missed four games. Henderson confirmed Friday that his MRI showed a high ankle sprain, and said he was surprised he could practice on Wednesday just three days after the injury. If Brown can’t go, New England expects Romeo Doubs, Efton Chism, DeMario Douglas and Kyle Williams as options at wide receiver. Caleb Lomu would likely replace Campbell at left tackle, with Marcus Bryant potentially activated as well. Corey Kiner and Lan Larison could see increased roles if Henderson remains out.
