Piedmont Council Picks Hatley LLC for Airport GA Hangar Bid ...
The Piedmont City Council moved forward with selecting Hatley LLC for an airport general aviation (GA) hangar bid estimate and also addressed uniform and vehicle-sale agenda items during a meeting after the July 2 public hearing. On July 2, at 5:30 p.m., council members discussed multiple issues, including selecting an engineering firm to prepare an independent fee estimate for a new GA hangar at the airport, funded by an existing grant. With the grant funding window closing July 17, they considered two bids: $3,900 from Hatley LLC and $4,500 from Robert Crane/Burns & McDonnell, ultimately approving Hatley’s bid. The council also approved switching from the city’s current contract with “Clean” for about $6,500–$7,000 per year to local retailer Colemans for an estimated $4,000 annually, with a planned $300 clothing allowance and a separate $200 boot voucher per employee. In a separate item, they discussed listing multiple non-operational vehicles, including a 1960s Ford 700 fire truck and a vandalized Farmall Cub Super C tractor, for public sale “as is.”
