Pilot flies daughter and Framlingham students to Iceland
xCruzo Brief
A Jet2 pilot flew her daughter and students from Framlingham College in Suffolk to Iceland for a school trip, turning a routine Monday flight into a family first. Marnie Munns, based in Cambridge, captained the airline’s Jet2 service from Stansted to Reykjavik with her 17-year-old daughter Lillian and about 30 others on board. She swapped shifts to get into the cockpit. Although she initially planned to surprise Lillian, she revealed the plan at a parents’ evening. Munns said it was a “huge privilege” to fly an Airbus A321neo with the full trip crowd, noting extra pressure during announcements. The flight was also full with pupils and staff from other schools heading to similar trips.
