Pilot who 'forged licence' to become Air Canada captain flew 900 flights
An Air Canada captain is accused of flying about 900 flights over 17 years by forging the top-tier Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) required to command commercial Boeing aircraft. Geoffrey Wall, 59, began the deception in 2009 when he rose to captain-in-command while using forged documents, despite holding a valid commercial licence. Peel Regional Police describe the scheme as lasting nearly two decades, with Wall piloting multiple Boeing aircraft types. Air Canada says it voluntarily reported the matter to Transport Canada and notes an audit of its pilot roster found no other fraudulent licences. Wall was grounded last year and arrested on June 1, facing seven criminal charges, including fraud and forging documents; his first court appearance is set for June 29.
