Poland scrambles fighter jets for second day due to Russian Il-20 aircraft over Baltic Sea

Poland scrambled fighter jets for a second day in the span of two days to escort a Russian Ilyushin Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft flying over the Baltic Sea. The incident took place 56 kilometers northwest of the Polish coastal city of Koszalin, according to Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, who reported it on the social media platform X. The Polish military said there were four similar incidents in July. In response, Russia’s Defense Ministry previously stated that all Russian military flights are conducted in strict compliance with international airspace regulations.
