Porsche Cayenne S Diesel set world record by pulling a 284-tonne Airbus A380 in ultimate test of its strength

Porsche’s Cayenne S Diesel set a Guinness World Record by towing an Airbus A380 during an ultimate strength test, using an unmodified production vehicle. The stunt took place at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, where the 42-meter, 285-tonne aircraft was pulled by the 4.8-meter Cayenne rated at 385 horsepower. Porsche used a special towing attachment on the car’s standard tow bar, but otherwise kept the vehicle unchanged. Porsche technician Richard Payne said the team was “relieved” after completing the pull, noting it was working hard without complaining. Porsche later pursued similar towing records, including Cayenne Electric tests in 2026 involving Stratolaunch’s Roc.
