Qantas to launch non-stop Sydney-London flights in October 2027

Qantas will launch the world's first non-stop London-to-Sydney service in October 2027, a milestone for ultra-long-haul travel. The Project Sunrise service uses the Airbus A350-1000ULR, equipped with a 20,000-litre rear center fuel tank to enable non-stop flights of up to 22 hours. Twelve aircraft will carry 238 seats across four cabins, with tickets going on sale in February 2027. The launch could reduce travel time to as little as 19 hours. Qantas plans Sydney–New York as a subsequent non-stop route once Sunrise is established, with timing to be announced next year.
