Quebec cuts ties with Air Liaison airline over 'false declarations' for subsidized flights
Quebec has cut ties with the regional airline Air Liaison after the province said the carrier made “false declarations” related to subsidized flights. Transport Minister Benoit Charette announced on Thursday that the financial assistance agreement was terminated because Air Liaison allegedly did not comply with the conditions of its funding arrangement. The government also launched a claims process to recover overpaid amounts, and the findings were shared with UPAC, Quebec’s anti-corruption unit. UPAC investigators raided the airline’s Quebec City headquarters in mid-June. The Transport Ministry has been auditing the regional air access program (PARR) since 2025 and found irregularities involving the number of subsidized tickets purchased by individuals. As of July 2, Air Liaison is no longer authorized to sell tickets at the PARR rate.
