Registration opens for first-ever jet pull challenge at Cecil Airport
Registration has opened for the first-ever “jet pull” challenge at Cecil Airport, a community fundraiser aimed at strengthening speech and hearing services. Jacksonville Speech & Hearing Center will host the event on Nov. 14 at Million Air Jacksonville at Cecil Airport on Jacksonville’s Westside, testing the strength and skills of 20-person teams competing to be first to pull a commercial plane across a finish line. The center is a nonprofit providing evaluations and treatments, and the money raised will support speech, language, hearing, and literacy services for adults, children and their families regardless of their ability to pay. Team registration is open now through October 30, and organizers say the competition welcomes corporate teams, first responders, military units, civic groups, schools, healthcare workers and local businesses. Chandra Manning, CEO of the center, said the event is about building community connections and removing barriers to essential services.
