Rolls-Royce to Provide 4 Engines for Somon Air's New Jets reports the company expects to supply four Trent 1000 XE engines to Somon Air under a memorandum of understanding. Rolls-Royce said the engines are intended for Somon Air’s two new Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The agreement includes upgrades such as a re-engineered high-pressure turbine blade designed to increase cooling air flow. The memorandum follows an April order for six Trent 1000 XE engines placed by LATAM Airlines, according to Rolls-Royce. The company stated it has also been investing in maintenance, repair and overhaul capabilities, including dedicated Trent 1000 XE facilities in the UK, Singapore and Germany. Rolls-Royce shares rose 1.1% to GBP13.73 in London.
