Ryanair flight makes emergency landing after window dislodges midair

Ryanair’s FR1879 flight was forced into an emergency return to Thessaloniki, Greece, after a cabin window dislodged in midair on Friday, leaving a passenger partially pulled toward the opening before others reportedly pulled him back inside. The Boeing jet departed Thessaloniki at about 6:12 a.m. local time en route to Memmingen, Germany, and the aircraft reportedly turned back within minutes of departure. Flight-tracking data cited by WRAL and Simple Flying placed the aircraft at about 16,000 feet when it turned, while other trackers reported the incident around 15,000 feet. The plane descended to about 6,000 feet and landed safely roughly an hour later, with passengers returning to the terminal. Ryanair said the flight landed normally and arranged a replacement aircraft that departed about four hours late, while Boeing and Greek investigators launched an inquiry.
