Ryanair plans new Sarajevo Routes as Fresh Airline Subsidy Tender opens
Ryanair’s growth plans for Sarajevo are set to accelerate in summer 2027 after a new public airline-subsidy tender opened from the Sarajevo Canton Tourism Association. The call runs until November 7 and is designed to attract new destinations, protect strategically important routes and increase frequencies. Ryanair expects to add at least three new routes next summer—Manchester, Malaga and Palma de Mallorca have been cited as candidates—after suspending its Sarajevo operations for the upcoming winter season. For the 2027 summer season, the carrier targets about 14 destinations from Sarajevo versus 11 this year, and schedules roughly 425,000 seats, up 28.3% year on year (around 94,000 more seats than 2026). Subsidies will combine fixed monthly payments and variable incentives tied to arriving passengers, with higher amounts for carriers operating more routes, setting up a base, and launching long-haul flights over six hours.
