Secures Boeing Apple Cup victory over WSU

Washington kicked off the season with a 24-10 win over Washington State in the season-opening Boeing Apple Cup on Sunday in Seattle. Desmond Williams Jr. threw for 268 yards and a touchdown and also scored on a 5-yard keeper in the 118th meeting of the rivalry. Washington State’s Caden Pinnick completed 16 of 25 passes for 142 yards, added 61 rushing yards and a touchdown on 14 carries, and threw two interceptions. After a 10-0 Huskies halftime lead, WSU scored early in the fourth to make it 10-7, but Washington answered with a 1-yard reception by Rashid Williams. Jayden Limar sealed it with an 11-yard rushing touchdown late.
