See the Colorado Snyder Mesa Fire From Every Angle
The Snyder Mesa Fire continued to expand across Colorado’s Mesa County as officials tracked growth to 30,209 acres and 10% containment as of Wednesday morning. The wildfire crossed from Utah into Colorado on Saturday, June 27, reaching areas of Snyder Mesa, Jones Canyon, and parts of the McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area early on. As it moved east and northeast, strong winds pushed the blaze in multiple directions. By the end of June 30, it was near 32,000 acres with 10% containment. Nearly 500 personnel were assigned to the incident, supported by helicopters, large and single-engine air tankers, and other aircraft. Drivers in western Mesa County faced restrictions near the Utah border, with road closures including 2/10 Road at DS Road and BS Road near the BLM boundary. Public access to the McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area and nearby BLM lands was closed until further notice, while agencies including the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office and BLM provided updates.
