xCruzo Brief
On Sept. 11, 2001, Kevin Tuerff—now founder and president of Pay it Forward 9/11—found himself stranded as an airline passenger in Gander, Newfoundland, a small town that became a hub for thousands after the attacks. In an interview on Here & Now, Scott Tong spoke with Tuerff about turning that experience into an international kindness effort. The movement asks participants to complete three random acts of kindness during the 11 days of September. Tuerff is also the author of Channel of Peace: Stranded in Gander on 9/11, and his story is featured in the Broadway musical Come from Away.
