A Piper PA-24 carrying four people crashed into shallow water near Seldovia, a remote coastal town in Alaska, on Wednesday, killing everyone on board, officials said. The aircraft departed Anchorage and was heading for Seldovia’s airport, about 136 miles southwest of Anchorage. After the crash, the plane was submerged in roughly 15 feet of water in the Seldovia Slough near the shore. State troopers waited for the tide to recede before recovering the bodies of the four adults. The victims were taken to the medical examiner’s office; names will be released after next of kin notification. Cause remains unknown as the NTSB investigates.
