Smoky odor" forces Delta flight to Florida to return to Atlanta airport, airline says

A Delta flight from Atlanta to Florida returned to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport after a smoky odor was reported onboard, the airline said. Delta Flight 1334 was scheduled to depart around 7 a.m. Thursday and arrive at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport just before 9 a.m., but turned back shortly after takeoff. A Delta spokesperson told CBS News that someone reported smelling what could have been smoke and that the flight crew followed established procedures; the aircraft landed normally without incident. Delta said nothing more about the odor’s potential cause. The airline apologized to customers for the delay.
