Solo pilot makes emergency landing on shoulder of Flint Twp. highway

A solo pilot made an emergency landing on the shoulder of an expressway in Flint Township after the aircraft’s single engine stalled while flying over the area on Oct. 10, police said. The plane was reportedly descending toward Bishop Airport when the engine failed, according to a social media post by the Flint Township Police Department. Officers said the pilot brought the airplane down on the shoulder of Interstate 69 near I-75. Police reported no injuries and no damage to cars. The investigation is being conducted by Flint Township police together with the Federal Aviation Administration and officials at Bishop Airport.
