Southwest Airlines Cancels 9 Routes From This Major Airport: See Affected Flights Now
Southwest Airlines has canceled routes out of Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) as part of network changes tracked by Cirium. Comparing BWI’s network from January 2025 through September 2026 with the schedule from October onward, nine destinations were shelved, even though Baltimore remains a key base. The carrier ended the BWI-Oakland route in March, then discontinued BWI-Chicago O’Hare in November 2025, shifting its Chicago presence to nearby Chicago Midway. For 2026, Southwest removed seven more corridors from BWI: six domestic and one international to Los Cabos (SJD), which last operated in April; United is set to start Los Cabos service from Washington Dulles in October. Domestically, routes to Colorado Springs and Long Beach ended in January, Jackson (JAN) in March, and Oklahoma City, Ontario, and Pensacola were dropped in August.
