Southwest Airlines Cancels All Routes From Major US Airport: See Affected Flights Now

Southwest Airlines is exiting two major U.S. airports on June 4, ending service that had persisted for years as the carrier refines its network. The airline stopped flying to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) after five years of operations, and it also ended its Washington presence at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), where it had operated for nearly two decades. Southwest began service at Dulles on October 5, 2006 with 12 daily nonstop flights to four destinations. Over time, the network shrank to only two destinations—Denver and Phoenix—by early 2026. Southwest says the move supports “ongoing efforts to refine its network.”
