SpiceJet to add 3 Airbus A320 aircraft, strengthening its portfolio

SpiceJet is expanding its fleet with three Airbus A320 aircraft on a damp lease, scheduled to join the airline in July 2026. The A320s are expected to strengthen SpiceJet's capacity and operational flexibility ahead of the peak travel season, the carrier said in a June 8 release. The three aircraft will widen the carrier's mix of narrow-body jets as it steadily grows its network. In a separate development, SpiceJet has returned a Boeing 737 MAX to service, which has already begun commercial operations, signaling a step toward greater reliability during the busy period. SpiceJet said the A320s will help meet rising passenger demand and boost network flexibility during the busy season, with Debojo Maharshi noting the aircraft will strengthen resilience and growth plans.
