Spooky: United Flight Reports
United Airlines Flight 779 reported severe radio interference during its Monday landing into Denver International Airport, forcing pilots to struggle to communicate with each other and with air traffic control. The incident was shared on X with clipped cockpit communications from an ATC App recording. In addition to the distortion, the crew received a Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) resolution advisory indicating they could not detect incoming signals. The Boeing 737 MAX 9 involved is registration N67350 and about two years old, according to Planespotters. The event comes after a May 12, 2025 disruption linked to failures in both primary and backup transmitters, and it is prompting expedited radar and telecom modernization at DEN.
