State Department Investigates Kimberly Guilfoyle's Party Life in Greece
The U.S. State Department has opened an official investigation into Ambassador Kimberly Guilfoyle, 57, and operations at the U.S. Embassy in Athens, prompted by internal complaints, according to multiple sources. The Office of Inspector General is probing allegations that Guilfoyle used a “tyrannical” management style and relied on lavish corporate perks, including possible substance abuse, use of private aircraft and helicopters, close ties to an energy and construction firm, and acceptance of improper gifts. The probe also comes after reports on her alleged opulent lifestyle, including luxury travel and events attended by Greek billionaires and pop stars, plus links to energy lobbyist Christos Marafatsos. Text messages cited by the Wall Street Journal reportedly show she asked Trump donor Eric Deters to cover a $100,000 American Express bill before confirmation. Her attorney said the ambassador does not comment on internal matters and any wrongdoing is unsupported.
