State pensioners being given £48.15 extra a week with two DWP benefits

Pension Credit provides extra weekly support for state pensioners, including an additional £48.15 per week for carers of an unwell partner or qualifying dependents. The program comprises Guarantee Pension Credit and Savings Pension Credit. For 2026/27, Guarantee Pension Credit can top up weekly income to £238 for singles or £363.25 for couples, while Savings Pension Credit offers up to £17.96 weekly for singles or £20.10 for couples. The carer supplement applies when eligible, and couples may each qualify if both claim Carer’s Allowance. In addition, aid for dependent children amounts to £69.98 per week per child, rising to £81.07 for the first child born before 6 April 2017, lasting until 31 August after the child’s 16th birthday (or 19th if in eligible education).
