Stowaway snake discovered on Tui flight to London
Stowaway snake discovered on a Tui flight to London is reported to have led to a temporary grounding of the aircraft after the reptile was found post-landing. The snake was discovered by airline staff on 5 June after passengers had disembarked from a Tui flight operating from Cancun, Mexico, to London Gatwick. Tui said the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner was briefly grounded while traps were set in an unsuccessful attempt to catch the animal. Operations resumed only after expert advice suggested the snake likely had left the plane. No passengers reported seeing the snake during the more than nine-hour journey. Tui stated the reptile was not venomous. The incident followed a prior similar episode on an Australian domestic flight earlier in the previous summer.
