A new 2026-focused guide argues that business-class seat design is increasingly what drives which airline travelers choose, sometimes ahead of loyalty status or even schedules. It notes that long-haul business fares can cost several times more than economy on the same aircraft, while airlines brand seats with names such as Qsuite, Club Suite, Aria Suite, Delta One Suite and Allegris. After Qatar Airways introduced a sliding door in 2017, competitors adopted similar ideas and then competed on finer points like suite privacy, flat-bed length and whether two seats can combine for a shared double bed. The guide also warns that many major carriers are mid-retrofit, so the aircraft assigned can dramatically change the onboard experience.
