Thousand Passengers in May

Keflavík Airport (KEF) handled 654,281 passengers in May, a 6.8% decline versus May 2025. During the month, 24 airlines served 63 destinations, with the top routes to Copenhagen, Paris, London, and New York. The busiest day was 31 May, when 25,632 passengers passed through the airport. Data from the Icelandic Tourist Board show that there were about 163,000 departures of foreign passengers from KEF in May, down 0.4% year-on-year. U.S. travelers accounted for roughly 52,000 departures, representing 31.8% of all foreign passenger departures, with numbers down only 1.8% compared with the same month last year. Since the start of the year, Icelandic residents made about 248,000 trips abroad, down 14.5%.
