Trump Force One Becomes 1st Arrival At The Airport Now Bearing His Name
Trump Force One’s first landing at the newly renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport highlights how quickly aviation identifiers can change. The US President’s private Boeing 757-200, known as “Trump Force One,” touched down at 5:01 AM local time on Thursday, shortly after the FAA changed the airport code from PBI to DJT. The airport, formerly Palm Beach International Airport in West Palm Beach, Florida, is now the first major commercial airport to bear the name of a sitting US president. Eric Trump posted that the jet was the airport’s first flight movement at DJT. Although FAA and ICAO identifiers switched overnight, the IATA code seen by passengers remains PBI until August 18, while DJT is used by pilots and flight-planning systems. The aircraft’s registration is N757AF, and the airport is about 15 minutes from Mar-a-Lago; Trump was not on board, with Eric and Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Trump onboard.
