Trump sends Air Force One to UK so US service members can tour the plane
President Donald Trump said he will send both Air Force Ones to the United Kingdom so U.S. service members stationed at Royal Air Force Mildenhall can tour the two jets. Trump, currently traveling in Turkey on the older Air Force One for the NATO summit, plans to link up with the newer Qatari Air Force One in the U.K. He said the aircraft will allow personnel to tour and compare both planes, presenting the visit as a way to recognize “brave” military members. The new jet, gifted by Qatar and being used by Trump since July 1, underwent months of preparation including security and aesthetic renovations costing $400 million. When first gifted, critics raised security concerns about potential listening or tracking devices, and renovations reportedly gutted the aircraft to address them. The plan also references a new color scheme the executive fleet will adopt, designed by Trump, featuring darker blue underbelly, red strip banding and a white top.
