Iranian attacks have inflicted extensive damage on U.S. facilities and aircraft in the Middle East, with the overall war cost estimated at $33.4 billion as of the end of June, according to a Lead Inspector General report released to Congress by the Pentagon on Monday. The report said Iranian strikes damaged or destroyed hundreds of buildings and structures at U.S. bases and dozens of U.S. aircraft. It included $184 million in physical damage to U.S. diplomatic facilities in Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, alongside inventory shortfalls and industrial-base bottlenecks affecting munitions resupply. It also documented the first instance of battle damage to an F-35A.
