Trump traveling to North Dakota on Qatari-gifted Air Force One maiden flight
President Trump traveled to North Dakota aboard the Qatar-gifted Air Force One, marking the new presidential jet’s first official use with a sitting president. The trip began Wednesday as Trump flew to Medora, North Dakota, to visit the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library before its public opening on July 4. He was expected to tour the 96,000-square-foot facility and deliver remarks amid celebrations tied to the United States’ 250th birthday. Afterward, he planned to visit Mount Rushmore in South Dakota on Friday, then return to Washington for Independence Day commemorations. The refurbished Boeing 747-8, valued at $450 million for the project referenced in the report, is intended as a temporary “bridge” between the aging Boeing 747-200 currently used and two new Boeing aircraft not expected to be ready until 2028.
