TUI passengers slam 'ridiculous' £12.50 rule change impacting flight experience
TUI passengers have criticized a planned economy-cabin change that will limit complimentary alcohol on long-haul flights starting 1 November 2026. From that date, TUI will offer only one complimentary beer or wine with the main meal, while soft drinks remain free throughout the flight. Additional alcoholic beverages will be available to purchase onboard. TUI said the move is part of broader updates to its economy service and will not affect premium cabins, where the existing offering will stay in place. For passengers traveling in economy after 1 November, the airline confirmed a £12.50 per-adult refund per flight segment as a “goodwill gesture.” The announcement drew mixed reactions, with some calling the change “ridiculous” and others questioning whether passengers need alcohol while flying.
