TUI passengers slam 'ridiculous' alcohol rule changes for its flights
TUI passengers are reacting to changes to alcohol included with long-haul economy meals, starting in November, which will offer only one complimentary beer or wine. The airline says that from 1 November 2026, economy customers will still receive free soft drinks throughout the flight and a complimentary beer or wine with the main meal. Any additional alcoholic drinks will have to be purchased onboard. TUI confirmed the change applies to economy on long-haul flights and that premium cabin service will remain unchanged. The company also said economy passengers traveling after 1 November will receive a £12.50 per-adult refund per flight segment as a goodwill gesture. Non-alcoholic drinks, including water, juice and soft drinks, will remain free. Passengers have expressed frustration, with some claiming TUI’s offer now resembles competitors such as BA or Virgin.
