Turkish Airlines orders up to 150 Boeing 737 MAX jets

Turkish Airlines has placed a firm order for 100 Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft, with options for 50 more. The agreement also allows the carrier to convert some of its orders to the 737-10, the higher-capacity variant in the MAX family. Deliveries are scheduled from 2033 to 2037. The deal is described as the largest single-aisle order ever placed by Turkish Airlines with Boeing and ends negotiations that began in 2025. Talks were delayed by a dispute with CFM, the joint venture of GE Aerospace and Safran, over engine maintenance terms, and Turkish Airlines reportedly threatened to walk away before talks resumed. Turkish says the new jets will improve fleet efficiency and flexibility and support network expansion from Istanbul.
