Two UK airports received threats as bomb alerts impact flights across Europe
xCruzo Brief
Heathrow and Birmingham airports in the UK received bomb threats assessed as not credible, with operations continuing normally, according to reports. Several flights across Europe were diverted after the alerts, including a Dublin-to-Rome service that was redirected to a French military air base where searches found nothing. At least a dozen flights on Thursday were targeted, with routes involving Copenhagen, Helsinki, Madrid, Milan and Warsaw. EasyJet said two flights—one from Newcastle and another from Glasgow—were met by police in Prague as a precaution; passengers disembarked normally. A Heathrow spokesperson said the threat posed no risk and that a multi-agency response was initiated.
